How do I schedule a ride to the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis or Mankato CBOC?

The Veterans Van travels to the Minneapolis VAMC on even days only and odds days to Mankato CBOC (The Veterans Van does not travel on any weekends or holidays).. A family member or friend may accompany you on the Veterans Van if space is available.  To schedule a ride, call (507) 526-6268 at least four days prior to your Minneapolis VAMC or Mankato CBOC appointment.

What does it cost to ride the Veterans Van?

There is no charge to ride the Veterans Van. Free-will donations from van riders are gratefully accepted. Contributions from Faribault County, veterans service organizations and the public help support the Veterans Van service as well as your Faribault County Commissioners.

Where do I meet the Veterans Van?

Passengers are picked up and dropped off at the following locations:

Southwest side of the Faribault County Courthouse in Blue Earth (Nicollet St & W. 3rd St.).
South side of the Municipal Building in Winnebago.
Casey's parking lot (Closest to Dairy Queen) in Wells

When does the Veterans Van leave and return?

The departure time to the Minneapolis  VAMC or Mankato CBOC is determined by the latest scheduled appointment of the van riders that day.After all passengers have completed their appointments at the Minneapolis VAMC, the van will return to where they were picked up at. The van driver has the authority to cancel a van trip due to poor weather-related driving conditions.

Who drives the Veterans Van?

The Faribault County Veterans Van is driven by friendly, dedicated volunteers.

An important note to Veterans Van passengers:

The Faribault County Veterans Van is not wheelchair accessible. Passengers must be ambulatory and able to get in and out of the van on their own. The van cannot transport anyone with a serious or acute medical condition, life threatening emergency, or requiring continuous use of an oxygen tank.

Travels to the Minneapolis VAMC are on even days and Mankato CBOC are on odd days, Monday through Friday (except holidays and van servicing days). The pick-up and drop-off point are in Blue Earth, Winnebago, and Wells. Pick-up time is usually 5:00 am to 5:30 am in Blue Earth & 5:00 am to 6:00 am in Wells. Fee: None at this time. Please thank your county commissioner's for this service. Not wheelchair accessible.
